Tanabo is a middle school student who met Yuuko on the street in Chapter 112 of the manga, and is a classmate of Mihoshi Tachibana. She appears as a very kind shy girl, and she is very friendly to her friends in class 1|TWO, Sumika & Mihoshi Tachibana.
Although she is seen only in the manga, Tanabo makes a cameo appearance in the second ending along with Sumika. She appears to have an interest in Rakugo storytelling, and adores a cult entertainer named Double Cheeseburgirl, whom she mistakes Yuuko to be. It is very secretly implied that she is the younger sister of Tanaka. As Sumika said, she was very, very shy before watching Double Cheeseburgirl's show, and it's seeing her trademark that finally made her more assertive and confident. Double Cheeseburgirl changed her life so much, that she wants to be her disciple. She may not be very talented in comedy or Rakugo, but she is very warm-hearted and treats her friends very sincerely.
Why is Tanabo (a probable) sister of Tanaka?[]
In her second appearance in Nichijou 136, when Sumika asks her what got her into Rakugo(落语), Tanabo said that she was influenced by her big brother, which implies that she does have a big brother. The real clue that Tanaka is her brother lies a few pages before (See these parts in pictures below^-^), where Tanabo began to panic because she couldn't find her fan and towel to perform Rakugo. And just in the next Nichijou (Nichijou 137)——when Tanaka was in the middle of chasing Tsuyoshi Nakanojou——we can see on the third page that two and only two small things fell out of Tanaka's wig, and they appear to be Tanabo's missing towel and fan.
