Masaharu Egi (江木 正晴, Egi Masaharu) is a nagashi-somen researcher.
Thirty years before the events of Nichijou, he set off to research nagashi-somen, squandering the savings he and Aunt had together in pursuit of the most delicious nagashi-somen in the land. His efforts were fruitless, and he woefully returned to Aunt, who lured him in with her own nagashi-somen event.
Etymology[]
- The name Masaharu means "right, proper" (正) (masa) and "clear weather" (晴) (haru).
- Masaharu's surname Egi means "bay, inlet" (江) (e) and "tree, wood" (木) (ki/gi).
