Well, the time has come. This has always been a quiet wiki, but now the sun sets on one era of Nichijou, while rising on the next. With the active community moving to the Wiki's new home, this site will continue to remain more as a living museum of fan effort past. I say "living museum" because there is of course always room for improvement, but as far as major development goes... well, the developers are moving to greener pastures (see: an actually functioning site, haha).

Hello everyone. After several discussions between the internal staff of the wiki, several weeks of work, and multiple teasers about a “big” update, here it is. We are making a tough, but exciting decision regarding the future of the Nichijou Wiki.
The Nichijou Fandom Wiki has long served as the go-to source for everything related to the world of Nichijou. While the site experienced a period of relative inactivity over the past four years, a few dedicated fans continued to contribute here and there even when it didn't have any bureaucrats. Need to clean up images around wiki
I've requested for discussions to be turned on, and I'm putting this in a blog now. To add the the previous "Help Around The Wiki" post, many of the galleries are very messy and need organising, some videos might need replacing, there are a few pages that don't link anywhere or are too hidden, many old images need deleting, many images are unused. I'll put my list here, of the random things I've found. I went through all the images from now to 2011, and picked out ones that caught my eye and that are not used anywhere. Just as a reminder for myself and others.

Quick history of the Wiki
Jaziecult mentioned a new generation, which got me thinking.
This does feel like a new generation, which is funny, I think for people it is like 30 years, right. For wiki editors this is a long time. It's been 13 years now, so it's those people at the beginning, then people who set up the site's code and made it organised, and those after who are really into writing the content, pictures, side content and details. Then everyone really left, there were a few rare occurrences of people appearing, but suddenly we're back after the new announcements.

CITY ANIME
The fabled Season 2 is upon us. Against all odds, CITY: The Animation has been announced.
There's no telling if it will be the quality of Nichijou (can you imagine), but regardless of the outcome, it is going to spark a new generation of fans and an influx of users. I still need to finish getting the CITY Wiki navigation infrastructure in order as well as finally finish its visuals once more anime material is available, but I'd also like to get things just a liiittle more tidy around here.

Help Around the Wiki
I've noticed that a lot of pages don't have complete information, have completely wrong information, or have spelling mistakes and other such errors. Some links on the wiki do not appear to be working either. Are we allowed to make edits? I've noticed the admin hasn't been active in a while and there currently appears to be a conflict between one "Kitchentowelnichijousaviour" and one "Viana Mana". I do not wish to be involved in this dispute. I would just like to edit the wiki if that'd be alright. Thank you.

Ok, it's been a while since I've posted. The reason being is that I was seeing if there was going to be any new activity in the blogs section! I know, it's not the best section of this whole wikia, but the blogs can tell people certain things about Nichijou. One of them is the birthdays of the characters (I find that interesting at least), another could be how the show has actually had some crossovers with certain companies or even other shows (the only one I know of is with Shirobako... Hehe).

It was the winner of 2017's Crunchyroll Anime Awards for it's stunning visuals and FREAKIN' AMAZING SOUNDTRACK!! It was, and still is, highly praised by fans. But, the anime is more popular than the manga... I can see why now... But both are really good!

My second anime/manga I picked is Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica! I really love this franchise cause it cool.
This thing (?) is about Magical Girls who fight creatures that make people (essentially) depressed. Specifically this version of the story focuses on a girl named Madoka Kaname. You can tell she's the main character by her (Crayola's version) salmon pink hair! Sometimes depending on which scene or episode, it changes to lavender or mauvelous (also Crayola)!
I can't really say much past the end of episode 3... So... But there is one thing I can tell you! If you ever do watch the show and get creepy, stomach-chruning vibes from the first Witch in episode one, YOU SHOULD.

It's as the title says. The main character, Komi Shouko, has - as the other characters call it - a disorder where she cannot speak in front of very many people she doesn't know well. Even with this mental (NOT physical) disorder in the way of making friends, she tries her best anyway.

Hiya, folks! Thought I'd make an update blog because I haven't made one in a while, someone else didn't JUST make a blogpost, and grad school's just resumed so if I don't do it now I might not have free time again for several months.

First of all, I've noticed a lot more activity lately. A ton of pics have been added, so I've really fallen behind on cataloging them.
Speaking of cataloging, I've gotten a job this fall working for the university library's cataloging department. Right now it's mostly getting rid of a ton of outdated material (STEM stuff) to make room for newer things; there's a lot of books on computer programming and so forth from the 1980s (one was from 1977), so there's a LOT of old material to go through.

On the usage of tabs in character pages
Hi all, I wish to have a discussion on the usage of tabs on character pages. Personally, I'd rather not have them.
I noticed that many wikias that I come across tend to split up character pages into multiple tabs. For example, on this wikia, pages are typically divided into "Main Article", "Relationships", and "Media".
Currently, it looks like we're using the Tabber extension to create these tabs. One advantage of this over the separate-pages tabbing template that other wikias tend to use is that the page doesn't need to reload every time you change tabs. On the other hand, one downside is that the Edit section links don't work. For example, if you go to Nano Shinonome#Relationships and click "Edit" next to the Hakase section, it just brings…

So I haven't been on here nearly as much as I'd like lately. I'm in grad school now, which apparently involves a lot of work? I think I also mentioned thinking about getting a Blu-ray player for my laptop to take great captionless hi-def pics, but they're like $90, so...
On the bright side, someone FINALLY recognized my Nichijou sticker on my laptop. I think he's in one of my classes... He said the background for his laptop is from Helvetica Standard, so there's potential for, like, conversations I guess? Maybe I could start a club where we watch an episode or two every week.

This is a notice I guess. Seeing as I'm running the CITY Wiki, a site for editors, I'm like the Editor in Chief, right? So there's a character in CITY... The Editor in Chief of the CITY Magazine. See where I'm going with this? The guy only wears shorts, sandals or no shoes, and a tropical shirt. He's also completely off his rocker. Fitting enough. My avatar could've used an update anyways, it was literally a an upscaled version of a favicon I made for another wiki. So... I joined this wiki end of 2015 and made good headway. Wrote a couple of articles, reworked a couple of pages, contributed to overall editing. Then I kind of stopped after starting a big project that I never got through. (I haven't hung it up for good, by the way!) Everyday This and That
It has come to my attention that Funimation has acquired the distribution rights to the Nichijou anime, and will release the complete series (subbed) on DVD and/or Blu-Ray in North America next month. While I don't see any date on the official site, Amazon.com leads me to believe they will be released February 7. The 7th is a Tuesday, so that's probably the correct date, as it seems DVDs, books, and CDs are generally released on Tuesdays. While this may seem old hat to anyone from Japan or Australia, this is the first opportunity for those of us in Region 1 to buy this wonderful animated series. Boy, a lot of time can pass without doing much on a wiki if the admin in charge has a lot of other things going on in their life. Senior seminar and a 30-page paper... Work and the Christmas rush... Pokemon Sun... Transferring files from my old laptop to my new one (and having to re-enter a ton of information on my vast iTunes catalog because it doesn't transfer correctly if the id3 tag is v2.2 and not v2.3)...Trying to talk to that one girl at the movie theater without making it awkward... Making it awkward and hating myself... Being assured by my counselor that it wasn't that bad, and I need to stop being so self-critical...
